Treating Hemorrhoids the Natural, Easy Way

There are no two ways about it, hemorrhoids are a real pain in the aSS - it's amazing how painful it can be when the tiny veins in the rectum and the anus become inflamed and swollen causing hemorrhoids (aka piles).
Pain killers may deal with the symptoms of hemorrhoids whilst not getting anywhere close to the cause but there are other natural remedies which may help with the treatment of hemorrhoids.
" Eat more fiber - this is actually a very good preventative method of contracting hemorrhoids too, eating plenty of fiber in the diet. This can help to relieve and symptoms and bleeding of hemorrhoids. A diet which is rich in fiber means larger, softer stools with less need for straining. Eat plenty of high fiber foods and don't forget to drink plenty of water for the maximum effect.
" Witch Hazel Cream or Compress - this can be found in almost any drug store and can be topically applied for hemorrhoid relief. This can help to relieve bleeding because it acts as an astringent - Witch Hazel may also help to relieve itching, swelling and pain - all of which are associated with piles / hemorrhoids.
" Butcher's Broom - is another plant, also known as box holly, tree holly or sweet broom. The plant earned the name of Butcher's Broom because it was traditionally used to clean the chopping blocks of butchers.  Nobody is entirely sure why Butcher's Broom is so effective in the treatment of hemorrhoids but it does have vein constricting properties and is anti-inflammatory. It is usually taken in team form or as a capsule although it is sometimes available in an ointment for topical application.
" Bioflavonoids - these are particularly present in many citrus fruits and have been found to reduce the pain and discomfort of hemorrhoids. Although once again nobody is exactly sure why they work so well there is a theory that they are effect because they stabilize the blood vessel walls making them stronger whilst fighting inflammation.
" Triphala - is another natural remedy which is often effective against hemorrhoids. This is an Ayurvedic which is a gentle bowel tonic relieving constipation - one of the top causes for the formation of hemorrhoids in the first place.
As always prevention is better than cure and you can significantly reduce the risk of suffering from hemorrhoids by drinking plenty of water each day, making sure that there is sufficient fiber in your diet and taking regular exercise.

Quick Treatment for Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids…they are not a pleasant experience, and many times show up at the most inconvenient times.  When they do occur, you want something to treat them right away so you can go on about your day.  Below are some suggestions of ways to treat the hemorrhoids at home.

Hemorrhoids are swollen and twisted veins in the rectum or anus caused by increased pressure in the veins.  This pressure can be caused from things like pregnancy and childbirth, frequent lifting, constipation or diarrhea, and being overweight.  Identifying what might be causing the hemorrhoids could prove helpful in future months as you want to reduce your flare ups.  If you notice bleeding with a bowel movement, pain in the rectal area and maybe itching in the area, you probably have a hemorrhoid issue.

Most people will probably go to the drugstore and buy an over-the-counter ointment or treatment for their hemorrhoids, which can be effective and help alleviate the symptoms.  These treatments will help to reduce the inflammation and calm the itching.  They can be greasy and messy, however, so be aware of the clothes you wear when using these products.  There are several brands and types, so your pharmacist could probably recommend a good ointment for you.

There are other home remedies that people don’t often know about which can be used effectively.  Essential oils are a great way to treat hemorrhoids.  These oils can be purchased at health food stores and online through various sources.  They are good to have on hand for other ailments as well.  The oils most recommended for hemorrhoids include Cypress, Geranium and Helichrysm.

The way to apply the oils is to mix a few drops with a carrier oil such as coconut or olive oil, and then apply to the area topically.  It may also be used internally with a rectal syringe if you have internal hemorrhoids.  The good thing about oils is that they can be used frequently throughout the day.

Other suggestions are to be gentle when wiping the area, rinse with warm water in the shower and use only non-perfumed type soaps.  A warm bath is excellent for hemorrhoids and can be used several times a day.  Of course, pain relievers like Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen can be taken to reduce swelling and decrease pain.  Also, try wearing cotton underwear and keeping the area as dry as possible, so moisture does not build up.

As always, if you have a medical condition, like hemorrhoids, and you try home remedies and they are not working effectively, you may need to visit your doctor.  Most of the time, however, hemorrhoids can be treated at home with inexpensive agents.  It may take a combination of a few remedies, but most likely you will get relief.

Trying Some Hemorrhoid Home Treatments

I have been struggling with hemorrhoids for a while now. I wasn't sure what to do. I then started reading up on treatments you can do at home.

At first I tried the creams but they didn't really work. I kept applying that stuff but they never made me feel any better. It was getting really frustrating.

I thought about using suppositories but I wasn't really sure. I had also heard they don't always work. I didn't want to use them if they were not going to do the job.

After I read up on some home remedies I started to feel like I could put an end to all the pain. I was willing to try them because nothing else worked. I was so glad that I did.

I first started drinking a lot more water each day. I would have three to four big glasses each day. I kept one on my desk so I would be able to drink it without any issues. The water did seem to help a little bit.

I found that once I figured out why I was getting the hemorrhoids I could help keep them away. I thought about everything I ate and realised that I needed to change my diet. I made a list of foods I needed to stop eating.

Over a couple of months I was able to eliminate them from my diet. It was not easy at all. I had to give up some of my favorite foods. In the end it was worth it.

I increased the amount of fiber in my diet. I added more fruits, veggies and nuts. The funny thing is that I liked all of that stuff anyway, I just didn't have enough of it. Now that is pretty much all that I eat.

I had to give up all of my processed foods. That was pretty difficult for me at first. I loved a lot of that stuff. I did it because getting rid of hemorrhoids was very important to me.

I knew that being overweight made it more likely to get hemorrhoids so I started walking everyday. At first it was a challenge but then I got used to it. I have lost 15lbs so far and feel a lot better about myself.

My hemorrhoids are not all completely gone but I feel like they are a lot less painful for me. I think what I am doing is the right thing to do. Hemorrhoid home treatments have really helped me.
